After months upon months of hard work (not to mention the POUNDS of paperwork) it has happened!!! Starting today we will be serving all kinds of Liquor!!

SOOOO SORRY!!!
AHH! I feel terrible! I'm oh so sorry I havent updated recently! School started last week, and I've been kind of frazzled!!! Hopefully I can get back on track this week!
Anyways, back to THE GREEN BEETLE!! We've had some great publicity since the last time I was on here! Including our ads in the Memphis Flyer!!! :) Plus, we had a band in here last weekend that I heard was pretty awesome!!
As you know, there have been some great desserts flying in and out of the Green Beetle! Including chocolate caramel cake, cookie dough cake, banana pudding cupcakes, carrot cake, and peanut butter cupcakes!!!!
Our facebook page is updated more often than this, so check that when you need some more info!!!

trois semaines!! (Week Three)
Hey yall! SOOOO sorry for the delay, It's been crazy these last few days! BUT our third week went really well!! Yall seem to LOVE those banana puddin cupcakes! :) They'll be plenty more to come!

Semana dos! (Week 2)
Hey yall!! So our second week was pretty good!! We sold tons of our Cajun Meatloaf, Beetle burgers, and Lasagna!! :) And Big Frank was taken down quite a few times as well!!
Our first Hell's Kitchen Watch Party went pretty well! I'd say it was a great turnout!! Monday at 7pm we'll have Johnathon's specialty dish, Punch Drunk Chicken! Come on by if you want to watch Memphis's own Johnathon Plumley hold his own against Chef Ramsy!!! We'd love to have you!
Now, I know most of yall may come in for dinner or just a beer on your way to somewhere else which is totally awesome BUT did you know we have lunch?? Yes sir! You can come by for lunch!! We have plate lunches with southern style fried okra and turnip greens. You can also get a homemade family recipe original dessert as well made by Kristeanna, grandaughter of Frank Liberto!!
Speaking of desserts, you are gonna die when I tell you what we are having for dessert this week!! **drum roll** TRUE southern original Red Velvet Cake!! NO cream cheese icing!! This is the real deal! But that's not all, we will also be having Banana Pudding Cupcakes!!! Yup, you read that right! Banana Pudding Cupcakes!! Look, there's so cute!
These are top secret recipe cupcakes, so you know they've got to be awesome!!

Week One
Hey yall!!! WOW! Can you believe we've been open an entire week?!?! It's been a crazy one! We've had some great business this week so keep it coming Memphis!! For everyone who came by for a "Big Frank", "Beetle Burger", or any other menu item, thanks!! It was great talking to yall!! Maybe we'll see you next week! ;)
The press has been down at The Beetle most of the week! Including Paul Ryburn, The Downtowner, The Memphis Flyer, and The Downtowner!! Plus, ABC 24 is doing a spotlight on The Beetle at 5 o'clock! Thanks for all the great coverage guys!
This upcoming week, we've got a couple things going on! We're having a Hell's Kitchen Watch Party in honor of our own Green Beetle cook Johnathon, who's representing the South this season!! Check out the Green Beetle Facebook page for more information! Since we already ran out of our strawberry cake, this weekend come try some homemade Italian Creme Cake and Chocolate Peanut Butter Cupcakes!! (both delicious I might add)
So when you're out having yourself a good time this weekend, stop by The Green Beetle (325 South Main) for one of our 30 imported beers, some good food, or some homemade dessert!!

Our History/Background
Hey everybody! In honor of the Green Beetle opening it's green doors once again, I thought I'd give our customers some of the history behind it! And trust me- I've got plenty of history for you!
Frank J. Liberto opened the Green Beetle in 1939. It's the oldest tavern in Memphis Tennessee. It was next to Frank's Liquor Store, also run by Frank J. Liberto. Frank ran the Green Beetle for over 3 decades. He met his wife Mary there, and rasied his only child, Linda Ann there as well. Frank's Green Beetle was famous worldwide. Hank Williams Sr., Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, And Desi Arnez (before "I Love Lucy") frequented the place. Sam the Sham was rumored to perform there as well.
As far as location goes, The Green Beetle is located on the corner of South Main and Vance, near the Orpheum Memphis. It is now under the management of Josh Huckaby, the grandson of Frank J. Liberto.
